Responsibilities

We're seeking a General Manager to join our team. As our new General Manager you will:

 

  • Hire, supervise, mentor and evaluate Membership, Fitness, and Group Exercise managers.
  • Foster and manage quality relationships with client and site members.
  • Drive, track and report on key metrics. Review monthly reports for Center revenue reconciliation, non-revenue departments, member Center usage, and companies inside member participation.
  • Ensure membership sales and acquisition plan and strategies are developed annually with the aim of increasing net membership growth.  
  • Manage financial budgets with planning, forecasting, and revenue generation from various Center departments
  • Develop and implement marketing plan in collaboration with client's marketing department and resources.
  • Support managers and membership by responding to emergent program and member requests, staff needs, scheduling and acting as marketing liaison for all fitness & wellness programs.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and customer responsiveness to both inside and outside constituents.
  • Understand and be committed to the mission and vision of the Center.
  • Be knowledgeable about the client, their existing well-being programs, and seek ways to connect employees to available resources offered by our client company.
  • Participate in and promote programs and events.  
  • Ensure positive relationship and partnership experience with client key stakeholders.
  • Drive the integration and cross promotion of programs in health and fitness across the entire organization to maximize participation and engagement.
  • Develop strategic business plan, and monitor for progress on a monthly basis as a part of annual goals for department.  Implement contingency plan should any shortfall occur.
  • Designate a weekly one on one meeting for each Department Head to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are measured and graded and all departments are meeting or exceeding budgetary goals.
  • Act as "The Mayor" by greeting members, cultivating relationships, and encouraging connectivity.
  • Attend and support special events as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  

  •  Minimum of 5 years of General Manager experience within the fitness industry
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Health Related Industry
  •  Scheduling flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programming

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience starting up a new facility preferred     
  • Successful track record managing sales, operations, group programming and customer service
  • Excellent communication-both written and oral, leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Prefer experience/success in increasing programming participation in both for profit and not for profit environments
  • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues
  • Highly skilled in Google Docs, as well as proven ability to work with different CRM systems
  • Outgoing personality and customer service oirentation
  • Experience managing teams of people
