Responsibilities

We are looking for a Dishwasher to join our team! The dishwasher and/or utility person is responsible for cleaning dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, or utensils, along with providing assistance to the kitchen with daily prep, portioning, and organization of food. A strong work ethic, team-oriented mind, positive attitude, willingness to take direction, and uphold the kitchen’s high standards and care for food and sanitation is required.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using a three compartment sink by hand
  • Clean garbage and recycle cans
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition
  • Place clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in their proper place
  • Remove trash and recycle, placing it in designated areas
  • Sweep, scrub and mop floors
  • Assist in the preparation of various foods for cooking or serving
  • Assist in putting away deliveries in the designated areas, utilizing FIFO principle
  • Stock supplies such and food and utensils where needed
  • Maintain a safe working environment by using proper food handling skills and food safety guidelines
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the chef or sous chef at any time

Working Conditions

  • This job operates in a kitchen environment
  • This role routinely uses sinks and dishwashers and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, some holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
  • Uphold the EXOS Mission Statement, objectives, nutrition principles, and all future direction set forth by the EXOS management
  • Abide by all policies and procedures set forth in the EXOS Policies and Procedures Manual
  • Daily Family meal provided

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Kitchen experience/ or experience working as a dishwasher

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Culinary background preferred. Interest in nutrition a plus
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in an open kitchen environment
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow basic cooking directions
  • Must be able to work some catering events, nights, and weekends during high season
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Clear communication with supervisors and peers
  • Work efficiently, quickly, and in a team-oriented behavior
  • Self-motivated, driven, organized, and clean work ethic
  • Ability to receive feedback and take instructions
  • Proficient knife skills needed
  • Able to handle stress in a fast paced environment

 Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to speak and hear
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours)
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
