What you’ll learn:
Individuals who join our team will gain knowledge and experience working in a highly skilled strength and conditioning and group training environment.Each week you will shadow, observe, and participate in the performance programming and services we offer our to our athlete clientele ranging from youth to adult, collegiate, elite, and professional. Our coaches and teams utilize our unique proactive health and performance training system that addresses our four pillars: Mindset, Nutrition,Movement and Recovery. As an intern, you’ll participate in lectures, presentations, and practicums surrounding our specific strategies we use to enhance human performance and walk away with an in-depth understanding on how to implement this post-graduation.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and talented individuals who have a passion for upgrading the lives of all walks of life. These individuals must be pursuing a Bachelor/Graduate degree in Exercise Science or related field, interested in an industry certification such as NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-CPT, ACSM, NASM-CPT, etc., and a strong desire to become a professional in one of the following fields: Strength and Conditioning, personal training, sports medicine, or physical therapy. Eligibility for this internship is dependent on being able to receive academic credit for participation and completion.
Internship Logistics:
If you are selected to participate in the EXOS Performance Internship, you will be responsible for the following
- Finding, securing, and funding your own housing for the duration of the internship
- Booking and funding your travel and relocating to the location of your internship prior to the start date
- Funding all food and transportation costs for the duration of your internship
Academic credit is a requirement, so we recommend that you speak with your academic advisor on this before submitting your application to our internship program.

The Performance Chef is responsible for the overall success of the kitchen and direction of the culinary staff. This individual must continually strive to improve their own, and all fellow staff members, knowledge and performance to ensure a world-class experience for athletes, clients, and employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Day to Day Kitchen Operations:
- Support all kitchen operation functions
- Menu planning and recipe analysis
- Create breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catering menus according to EXOS standards and methodology
- Maintain and manage recipe database Provide food customized for each client needs based on EXOS Culinary Exchange Program.
- Create systems coordinated with the Performance Nutrition team to ensure that meals meet required specs
- Must be able to work catering events, nights, and weekends as needed by client request.
- Purchase food and supplies from vendors approved by the company and monitor inventory
- Ensure that the kitchen and surrounding areas are sanitized and clean in accordance with company standards and health code regulations
- Development and implementation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly “gold standard” food safety and sanitation protocols
- Manage and evolve systems around pricing, operations, ordering, waste reduction, etc.
- Maintain equipment, including refrigerators, stoves, ice machines, dish washer, etc.
- Conduct meetings with culinary staff to ensure world-class service of clients are being met.
- Establishes controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft.
- Continually visits dining area and catered events to ensure all quality standards are being met and all fueling stations are stocked.
- Perform other duties as directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, support and develop the Culinary staff in the execution of their job responsibilities based on the EXOS Nutrition & Culinary Principles
- Training of all staff in daily kitchen duties, food safety/sanitation practices, all small/large equipment, and customer service and satisfaction
- Continually train employees in cooking methods, presentation techniques, portion control, and retention of nutrients
- Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel and discipline all employees in the department.
- Instruct employees in the EXOS culinary and nutrition principals.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent the business with the highest level of professionalism and energy
- Report on and accountable for kitchen financials
- Maintain required records including food production, inventory, income/expenses, meal counts, food cost, payroll costs and personnel records
- Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.
- Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
- Ability to come to work regularly and on time, to follow directions, to take criticism, to get along with co-workers and supervisors, to treat co-workers, supervisors and members/guests with respect and courtesy, and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior.
- Provides training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff.

This is a Performance Site Lead position with the EXOS Works division of the company, which focuses primarily on both coaching as well as general operation of a corporate client site/facility. The Performance Site Lead will report to the Regional Performance Manager. This position supports one of our corporate clients in Tokyo, Japan.
Main Position Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operation function of the facility or facilities and various programs including but not limited to fitness and massage.
- Manage and mentor staff to provide world class experience to our clients
- Instructs, motivates, and assists clients in a safe, legal, moral, ethical manner to achieve their goals.
- Motivates and assists Performance team with daily activities including but not limited to scheduling, coordinating clients, and program design
- Ensure communication and alignment with Regional Performance Manager
- Regular communication with Regional Performance Manager
- Provide feedback from site team members to Regional Performance Manager
- Oversee operational and staffing implementation at the site level
- Oversee direct site level staff responsible for the delivery of solutions
- Responsible to follow EXOS methodologies and EXOS program design
- Assure appropriate scheduling and staffing as per contractual obligations
- Assist the Regional Performance Manager to train and develop site team members to implement programs that demonstrate impact in alignment with company and agreed upon client objectives to assure
- Quality control of methodology
- Program delivery consistency
- Product and solution implementation
- Troubleshooting to resolve operational issues
- Exceptional customer service delivery
- Primary point of contact for site level staff for internal helpdesk issues with product/programs
- Escalate site level internal helpdesk issues with product/programs to Regional Performance Manager
- Conduct performance evaluations for site level staff and maintain performance evaluation documentation with assistance from Regional Performance Manager
- Maintain and foster a positive site level staff community and culture
- Evaluate designated site level operations and performance, as well as performance of site level staff in alignment with both company and client company objectives to ensure optimal outcomes
- Support achievement of site level customer metrics
- Participating in program planning and development, as well as design and/or carry out related research
- Leading and/or participating in staff education covering all aspects of EXOS methodology
- Perform all aspects of position held in a professional manner
- Follow established policies and procedures of the company
- Other tasks as assigned
